Inside Popfly Circles: The Monthly Call Built to Help Creators Level Up Together

Content creation doesn't come with a manual. There's no orientation, no mentor assigned on day one, no handbook that tells you how to grow an audience, land partnerships, or just figure out what you're doing. For a lot of creators, that means doing it alone… which can be isolating, especially early on.

We launched Popfly Circles to create a space where creators can connect, support one another, and level up together. 

"Hearing from others and what they're going through helps, since I don't have that many creator friends in person here in Denver. It helps to not feel alone, and to hear what's working for them or if they're struggling with similar issues." 

What Popfly Circles Is

Popfly Circles is a monthly video call open to any creator on the Popfly platform, hosted by me Casey Evans, Popfly’s Community Manager. It's part community hangout, part masterclass, and part support group. It’s a recurring space where creators of every experience level can show up, learn something, and connect.

The calls run for an hour, every month, at 12pm ET, and they're intentionally kept general. Rather than diving into Popfly-specific logistics, the conversation stays focused on content creation as a craft so the group conversation can stay useful for everyone in the room.

Bringing in the Experts

Each month's call features a guest: an experienced creator who comes in to share what they've learned and take questions from the group. This month's guest was Jon Kreye (@jonkreye), known for his stunning content showcasing properties around the world and for hosting his own creator retreats.

Jon spent the first half hour of the call talking with the group and fielding questions. This kind of direct access to an established creator is hard to come by, especially for someone who's brand new to the space and doesn't know where to start or who to ask. For newer creators on the call (and experienced creators too), having someone that experienced and that generous with their knowledge was so refreshing.

Breakout Rooms to Build Closer Connections

The second half of the call shifts gears. Creators split into smaller breakout groups to introduce themselves, get to know each other, and work through whatever's on their mind that week: a tricky brand negotiation, a content idea they're stuck on, or just a win they want to share. It's the part of the call where the community really shows up.

"I think being able to connect with people in a smaller setting is super valuable and allows me to make meaningful connections with other people in the community and hear their experiences. It allows us to get into the weeds more on what we're going through!" 

"It's nice having a space where we can bring up topics to discuss with the group. It feels like a true community, and I really enjoy that and look forward to the monthly calls." 

Why Connecting With Creators Matters

What makes Popfly Circles work is the mix in the room: brand-new creators sitting alongside seasoned ones, all there to build each other up rather than compete. It's rare to find a platform investing in that kind of connection for its creators. Not just tools or payouts, but an actual space to grow together.

"I love that they exist — it's been really cool to meet creators from all over and get to share ideas and ask for support from people who are more experienced. I love the breakout rooms, and the facilitators are fantastic. I always learn from everyone's questions, and it's really nice to have a sounding board from more experienced creators since I've only been in UGC for five months. The things I've learned during these calls have saved me from making newbie mistakes, or getting taken advantage of by brands. This is such a cool resource for creators!" 

It's become a genuine highlight of the month, not just for the creators who join, but for me too. There's always something new to learn, even after leading the calls for months.
