The Opportunity:
As the Engineering Lead at Popfly, you’ll be at the heart of our technical operations, setting the standard for development while working closely with a global network of contractors. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment, is flexible on languages, and brings resilience and determination every day. You’ll partner directly with the CEO to drive the vision and innovation of Popfly’s technical stack.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by Doing: Be the primary architect and developer, actively writing and shipping code to ensure our platform’s continued growth and success. Set the tone for building and shipping products while leading by example.
- Global Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with contractors across different countries, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and meet our high standards. Write clear specs for developers across timezones to facilitate seamless collaboration.
- Full-Stack Development: Utilize your expertise in languages and frameworks like React, JavaScript, .NET, Node.js, Python, and SQL to create robust, scalable solutions. Be prepared to learn and incorporate new technologies into our existing stack as needed.
- Strategic Partnership: Work closely with the CEO to align technical development with the company’s broader vision and strategic goals.
- Adaptable Execution: Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where priorities can shift quickly. Balance the immediate needs of the present with a vision for future scalability.
- AI Integration: Leverage AI tools and copilots to do more with less, integrating cutting-edge technologies to enhance our platform’s capabilities.
- Growth Mindset: Play a critical role in advancing Popfly’s evolution from a leading content creator marketplace to a dominant force in collaborative SaaS and machine-led software.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years in software engineering with strong full-stack development skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in React, JavaScript, .NET, Node.js, Python, SQL, and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Flexibility in learning and integrating with the existing tech stack is essential.
- Hands-On Leadership: Ability to lead by example, with a focus on building and writing code while guiding contractors to achieve project goals. Set the tone for the team, both technically and culturally.
- Entrepreneurial Drive: Passion for innovation and a desire to build and scale impactful technology solutions.
- Adaptability: Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a readiness to tackle new challenges and adapt to shifting priorities.

Compensation:
The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
$120,000 - $160,000
This role is also eligible to participate in the company's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
